These days building a values-driven business is a no brainer, just ask salesforce.com’s Foundation’s creator Marc Benioff and he’ll tell you all about it. You see philanthropy starts with an idea, and he developed a great strategy around giving. He needed to decide what issue or issues the company will be addressing and why, and what form the philanthropy would take. Let Them Start Earning at A Young Age and Learn Responsibility

If you have kids, you will know they always want more and the funds do not always allow for what they want and need. Often it is also proved that the more they get, the more they want as well. To preserve your own sanity and your pocket it is a great idea to come up with alternative ways to help them and yourself by allowing the kids to start earning their own money. It will teach them the value of money as well as how difficult it is to survive in the adult world. Many kids will demand less, not only because they earn their own money, but because they will see how difficult it is to earn money.

Once a year, I am blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the amazing experience known as The Rock Boat, which is the result of a fine partnership between Sixthman and Sister Hazel. It started for me back in 2007 when my friends Usually Normal introduced me to the idea of cruising the ocean blue and soaking up the sun in the company of 30-ish rock bands. Music is my passion. I’ve always been a fan. I’ve always been an artist. I couldn’t imagine anything more fun. It wasn’t until I experienced Rock Boat for myself that I understood, it goes way beyond “fun”.
